FAQ: Does Sprucy charge a fee to use its platform? -Sprucy does not charge a fee to use its platform. Sprucy simply takes 20% of every item listed for sale or rent when a transaction happens. During a rental transaction, if an item is being shipped via USPS to a rentee, the owner of the item is paying for shipping out of its 80% commission its receiving from the transaction after the item is back in their hands and the transaction has closed out. No out of pocket cost will be needed for owners renting out their items, a pre-paid shipping label will be printed out when an item is checked out from you store. For local pick up transactions, full 80% commission of every item sold or rented as there is nothing being shipped 

How do I rent an item?

-Simply sign up as a sprucy member first. When you see an item from a profile that you’d like to rent, simply select the item, choose a 4 or 8-dayprice point with a time frame. Then check out the item and select either local pick up if the item is in your area and allows local pick up as an option or select USPS as the shipping method. If local pick up is chosen, the contact info of the owner will be released via emailafter the transaction goes through. The rentee will contact the owner to organize a place to meet up locally to exchange the item. Owners have the right to dictate where they’d like to meet up in public and must be only within 5 miles of their zip code. Owners of items allowing local pick up have 12 hours to organize a place to meet in public with the rentee to exchange the item. When the rentee meets up with the owner in public, they both need to click the link sent to them via email to validate that the drop off was done along with confirming the item was picked up. Same thing must be done when dropping off the item on the 4th or 8th day. All shipping is done via USPS only with 3-day shipping. Rentee pays for the rental cost at checkout and shipping at check out if the item is being mailed. When the item is shipped by the owner via USPS there will be a return label in the box to return the item on the 4th or 8th day. Simply use the same box and use the new shipping label in your box with the same box. Rentee is paying for shipping and owner of item is also paying for shipping to receive the item back from their commission of the transaction During the 4 or 8-day rental period, the rental cost of the item is put on hold of the rentees debit card. If the item is returned as scheduled on the 4th or 8 day, the hold will release to fully process. If the item is not returned on the 4th day or 8th via local drop off, the full retail will be charged. The rental hold will be turned to the retail cost of the item. For rentals with shipping, If the item is not received within the time period of 3 days from the 4th or 8th day it should have been dropped off at usps, the hold rental cost will also be switch to full retail of the item and the card will be charged.

How does buying work?

-Simply sign up as a sprucy member first. When you see an item you want to purchase, select it and check out the item by choosing either local pick up or shipping. Pay via credit or debit card and the transaction will be completed. A tracking # will be emailed as soon as the packaged is shipped.

How does Selling or Renting out my items work?

-Simply sign up as a sprucy member first. Create your profile by uploading a header to your profile page. Add a song to your page using our sound cloud integration. Upload a profile photo of yourself along with an image for your profile backgroundto be tiled. After doing all the following, you’re going to take pictures of all your items for sale or rent. You can also upload a clip of you wearing each item to show a 360 view as optional. Add the price points to your items for sale or rent. After your images, have been uploaded and you have filled in all the appropriate info, they will be approved by Sprucy customer service. All items for sale or rent on our platform are manually approved by customer service to control quality of the items. When your item gets sold or rented, simply print out the return label(s) that are going to be emailed to you. A member that is selling or renting out their items will receive 2 labels via email for rental transactions and 1 label for buying transactions. Print out the label(s), take your items to USPS, pick up your free box there, box up your item and add the additional label in the box for rentals so that your renteecan return the item as soon as they are done with it.

What shipping provider does Sprucy offer services through?

-All shipping is processed via USPS with 3-day shipping. All shipping includes a box with the transaction and needs to be boxed, picked up and dropped off at USPS.

How do I report my item was not returned from a rentee?

-All disputes regarding items not being returned to owners must be reported to customerservice@sprucy.com within 24 HR’s after 4th or 8th day for local pick up transaction and for shipping transactions, within 96 hrs. from the 4th or 8th day that item should have been dropped off at USPS to be returned. Every item is being shipped with 3-day shipping via USPS. 3 Day shipping for receiving the item and for sending it back.

What if I accidentally stain or damage an item?

-We understand that some wear and tear may be inevitable, a $10 fee will be charged if an owner reports and shows proof of minor stains or minor repairable damage. However, significant damage will result in full retail being charged of the item. If the item is damaged beyond repair, the hold rental cost will be changed to the full retail cost. Owner must be report the damages or stains to customerservice@sprucy.com within 24 HR’s after 4th or 8th day for local pick up transaction and for shipping transactions, within 96 hrs. from the 4th or 8th day that item should have been dropped off at USPS to be returned.

When do I get paid for my commission?

-Payment is issued 24 hours after item is dropped off on either the 4th or 8th day for local pick up transactions on rentals.

What can I sale on Sprucy?

-Sprucy is a market place for Women, Men and kids.
You can sell any clothes and accessories of quality.

What can be rented out on Sprucy?

-Sprucy is a market place for Women, Men and kids. In phase 1 of Sprucy, we will only allow clothes to be rented out. Phase 2 of Sprucy will allow for accessories.

What does boutique mean?

Boutique means that the item is brand new and never worn.

What does closet mean?

Closet means the item has been previously worn or used.

Can I search for a specific item on Sprucy?

Simply use any of Sprucy’s user friendly filter options on any of the main tab pages.

For example, the men’s tab will have every single item listed under the men’s tab and you will be able to filter out items for sale, or rent, along with sizing, type of item, color and even a zip code radius for local pick up options available.

What kind of boxes can I use to ship out my orders?

All shipping transaction comes with a free box that can be picked up at USPS where the item should be dropped off. The return label will be emailed and should be printed out.

What should I do if someone ask me to take a transaction offline?

Purchasing, selling or renting an item off Sprucy is called an “offline transaction “and is 100% prohibited. Sprucy will not be held responsible for any transaction held offline.

Member who are continually asking to do transactions offline will have their pages suspended.

Who pays for shipping during a rental if the item is being shipped?

-Rentee pays shipping at check out with the rental cost of the item. Owner of item is also paying for shipping but their portion comes out of their 80% commission for the transaction. They will put the return label in the box of the item that is being shipped to you.

What is the return policy for buying?

-All sales are final on Sprucy.

Can I Buy, Sell or Rent if I am outside of the United States?

-Sprucy is currently only available in the United States.

How do I delete my account?

Does Sprucy allow shipping to P.O Boxes?

Yes,Sprucy will allow shipping to P.O boxes.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

All shipping is done VIA USPS with 3-day shipping. Your item may come sooner depending on how close you are to the item.

If a person rents or buys from my store via USPS, how soon do I have to ship the item out?

- All items should be shipped out no later than 12pm of the next business day.

If a person rents or buys from my store via Local Pick Up, how soon do I have to meet up?

-Owners of items allowing local pick up have 12 hours to organize a place once an item is checked out via local pick up.

What happens if my order gets lost?

-Sprucy will do its best to help track the package with USPS, but Sprucy is not liable for packages lost via USPS.

Can I rent multiple things at a time?

-Uses canonly rent one item at a time per transaction. If more than 1 item is looking to be rented from the same profile page, contact the owner and simply have them group the item together under one listing to avoid pay shipping if the item is being shipped. For local pick up transactions, doing separate transaction should not be a big deal because there is no shipping to pay.

Can I rent and buy at the same time?

-You will not be able to buy and rent at the same time. The transaction must be done separately.

Can I buy multiple items at a time?

-You may buy multiple items at a time for the same profile only.

What happens if my rental does not fit me?

-All rentals are final.

Is a signature required for delivery?

-A signature will not be required however if the USPS carrier feels the package may be unsafe to leave at your door step, it is up to their discretion.

Who can I speak to about an issue?

-All escalations are to be sent to customerservice@sprucy.com

Does Sprucy work internationally?

-Sprucy only works domestically right now.

Can I arrange a fitting to rent an item for Local Pick up before renting an item?

-Arranging a fitting prior to renting your item will be completely up to the owner of the item.

What happens if an owner does not respond when contacted for a local pick up transaction after check out?

-A refund will be given for this situation. We will contact the owner ourselves before a refund is given, but this dispute must be escalated to customerservice@sprucy.com within 24hrs from the transaction time frame. Proof must be provided.

What happens if an owner of an item does not show to the arranged location to exchange the rented item?

-A refund will be given to the rentee for this case. Proof must be provided to customerservice@sprucy.com.

What happens if a rentee does not show up to the agreed upon location with the owner of the item?

-There will be no refund and the sale is final.

How do I return my rented item on the 4th or 8th day via shipping?

-Simply use the same box you received the item in and use the return label in the box. Put the new label on the old label and drop off the package at USPS.

What if my rental ends on a Sunday or holiday?

-Your package can still be dropped off at any USPS location mail box because you should be reusing the same box you received the item in along with the return label in the box.

Are gift cards allowed as a paying option for buying or renting?

-Gift cards are not allowed.

What card providers do you allow for payment?

Visa, Master card, Amex and Discover.

How can I trust buying on Sprucy?

You are protected every time you place an order. If you do not receive your item, you must report the issue within 96 hrs. of the transaction to customerservice@sprucy.com. Funds will be held until then and if we do not get an email, we will assume the transaction is clear.

I purchased an item/ or rented an item and did not receive an email confirmation. What do I do?

-Contact customerservice@sprucy.com ASAP with the issue at hand and we will take care of it. Also, double check that you are monitoring the same email on file for your account.

I accidentally purchased an item or rented an item. What should I do?

-Contact customerservice@sprucy.com ASAP with the issue at hand. If an item has already been shipped out, all sales are final.

My order was cancelled, when will I receive my refund?

-Your funds should be back in your account within 4-5 business days from receiving your email if the item was not shipped out.
